Is Watford General a good hospital to have a baby?

I am 10 weeks pregnant and thinking about booking at a local hospital for ante-natal care. I have heard one good report from a friend who used the birthing pool there. Has anyone else had a baby there - what do you think of it?

A week's break from caring for my father

I care for my elderly father who has dementia. He doesn't need much help usually although he needs to be watched over as he wanders and leaves the gas cooker on. I want to go away for a week - does anyone know whether the NHS or social services will arrange his care while i go away?

kids clubs near Tring for the summer

I've recently moved to the area, I'm looking for some children's clubs starting at 9am finishing around 3pm for a 7 year old and 14 year old. I'm also looking for a good horse riding school that offer lessons for children.

We deserve a post-Brexit new hospital in West Herts! Please post/share if you agree

We desperately need a new hospital in West Herts - after the closure of A&E in Hemel people are forced to travel to Watford which is struggling terribly. The Leave campaign told us that voting out would free up £350m per week to spend on the NHS. Now that the decision has been made, it's time they put their money where their mouth is. Please post your support in this discussion group if you agree and share with your friends. Herts Valley CCG are apparently a member of this group and will...

Brexit and the NHS

For various reasons my family rely on the NHS quite a lot. I can't help thinking that the vote to leave will mean that in 5 years time we won't have an NHS as we know it. What do people think?

Have you seen a lovely doctor, nurse or health professional in Hertfordshire recently?

They can be a ward nurse, district nurse, GP, hospital doctor or any clinician, NHS or private. Closure of The New Surgery in Tring

I've just been told that there are talks going on about closing The New Surgery in Tring which is very worrying - if this happens, 2500 patients will have to register with other surgeries in the area. This will have a huge impact on the surgeries in Berkhamsted as many of these patients will have to re-register there. It seems crazy to me when all the gp surgeries seem over-stretched already! I think as residents we need to have a say in these things before decisions are made that will...
