Dementia or just old age?

Recently I have noticed some changes in my father. Mixing up words and mixing up names of people in our family and his character has also changed, he flies off the handle, accuses me of doing things like stealing. He has also started writing lists when going to the shop just to buy a few things.

am I making something out of nothing? is this normal as you get older? or shall I seek help for him?

Hi Rose. Sorry this is a little late as i just came across your post. If you haven't been able to get a diagnosis you might find information on this website good to read.

Hi Rose. My wife started doing this and for about 2 years i thought that both she and i were getting old and short tempered with each other. In the end our children persuaded us to go the doctor who referred her to the memory clinic.
We were told that she was depressed but she didnt have dementia. She was given citolaprim which have helped her be more calm than she was.Maybe you should take your father to his doctor - he might be able to help.
